Keeping it real

The author gives a recipe for sassy salsa. He writes:

This salsa works really well if all the ingredients are cut into fairly beefy chunks. It gives it a great texture to go with its lovely vibrant colour. Great with warm pittas, or if you are having a "keeping it real" moment, with tortilla chips.

--- I'm not sure what the author means by "keeping it real" moment?
