Keep one's chin up

Hello, I have a question about the speech part of "up" in the phrase " Keep one's chin up" In my non native English speaker, it seems like an adjective but I can not find any explanations to prove it. So Is it okay to consider "up" as an adjective or it is just an adverb like "ups" in keep up with, keep up the good work, and so on. Could you help me out please.

Thank you in advance.
