Keep on or keep

Hi, I get confused about whether there is any difference between '' Keep _ing'' and '' Keep on _ing''.

For instance, I saw two sentence as below used in different forms but with the same meaning.

This is why it is hugely confusing whether there is really any difference between two.

- I keep on studying english.

- I keep studying engilsh.

thanks
