keep me wait vs. keep me wating

I was wondering if anyone could explain the meaning differences between two sentences.
(1) He kept me wating outside.
(2) He kept me wait outside.

I think (1) may be used more commonly. but is (2) also a correct sentence?

If not, the verb 'keep' takes objectEmotion: it wasnt me and objective compliment(waiting), the objective compliment must be either V-ing or V-ed? not a base form of V ? (V=verb)
