Keen and bless

Hi, What is "Keen" here?

Does "Bless" here has another meaning that its "general" meaning" ?

keen = enthusiastic, eager bless someone with something = means that you provide something very special for someone; here it simply means that they were not able to help Obama early on so he wasn't blessed with their endorsement at that stage of his campaign.
