Hey,
Is this sentence correct: "The 26th May, 1986 was the day I was born." Or shouId it be Iike this: "The 26th May, 1986 is the day I was born." ?

Unless one has a special reason to say it this way, even though it is correct, I think the normal utterance is " I was born on 26th May, 1986. Or My birthday is 26th May, 1986.

I'm sorry, but as spoken English, I can only imagine any native speaker saying, "I was born on May 26th, 1986" or perhaps "the 26th of May, 1986." The reversal of day and month is only a written practice.

Point of style: the year in a full date is considered parenthetical and takes a comma after it. "May 26, 1986, is the day I was born."
