Hi, The common noun 'juvie' is slang for a young (juvenile) criminal. But, in this case, the proper noun 'Juvey' just seems to be derived from the son's surname. Many English-culture names have no intrinsic meaning.

  • But in ancient tradition, the ending 'Xson' indicates the person is the son of X.
  • So does the prefix Mac, thus 'MacX' - indicates 'son of X'.

She's just giving a fake name (possibly making fun of her son).

Using Mc in fake names is fairly common recently. In a Friends episode, a character doesn't know a girl's name, so he calls her "Cutey McPretty".

Their last name is almost certainly not McJuverson...just a reference to him being sent to Juvenile Hall.

Hi

I like Clive's answer

It makes me wonder if there is some wordplay here...

- My son's a juvenile criminal - same as his father

We'd need to know the context

The son´s name ist Ray Jay .. and he´s done something criminal and his mother is talking about him to a friend and says:
My son is .... Juvey McJuverson.

There isn´t more context ...
What you think?

Vorpar nailed it. "Juvey" is a nickname for Juvenile Hall. The name she uses follows a standard format for ridicule. An obese person, for example, can be Fatty McFatterton. No great mystery, here.
