Just a little quick question

I saw this in a textbook. I am wondering why we should use singular nouns for words like legs and feet in this circumstance because we have two legs and feet. Could anyone please check this for me? Great thanks in advance.

1. Ankle

It’s part of your leg.

It’s between your leg and your foot.
