Just a glance?

Hi,

My son wanted to see his newly-bought toy truck before going to bed.
I allowed him to see it quickly and then go to bed.
Can I say in this context: Just a glance at it, and go to your bed?

Thanks

If you like. I would probably say 'Just a quick look', however.
