Jumped

Is it right to say that 'My daughter jumped on the gift to open it seeing her best friends name on it'.

What can we use instead of 'jumped' [ I mean the kid was so excited that he could not wait and jumped on the gift to see whats inside.]

Please help me on the above.

Hi, I think the participle clause works better at the beginning of the sentence, and instead of jump , you could use leap . Seeing her best friends' name on it, my daughter leaped onto the gift.
