'Jump the queue Vs 'Cut in line'

Do the words 'jump the queue and 'cut in line' mean the same? In the sentence, "When you cut in line, you are abrogating your responsibility to those who were in line before you", if I write the phrase 'jump the queue' does it still mean the same?
(I read the sentence here:http://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/abrogate?family=Abrogate)

Thanks.
