Judge someone on something Vs judge something

Could you please tell me if the following sentences are correct and which option is correct?

1 The MVP award is given to the best performing player of the regular season. The players performance in the playoffs isn’t taken into account when choosing the mvp of the year.

2 The panel of judges don’t judge the players on their playoff performance/judge the player’s performances when choosing the mvp?

3 The panel of judges judged his performance on /based on.... (How could you finish this sentence?)

Thank you
