Hi all,
I am trying to write a journalistic report. This is not a real case. Would you like to proor read it ? I'm glad to listen to any comments for improvement.. To Clive, thank you. I hope this doesn't bore you.
Four Tamanasri youths, Kulon Progo regency were arrested Tuesday by police after torching their neighboring resident’s house during clash between youths from separated villages. One unit from Mobile Brigade Corps came to the place 3 hours after the arson and rapidly got the youths to disperse by firing canesters of tear gas. One of the youths sustained gunshot wounds when he tried to run away despite the warning shots after he attacked a police officer with his arrow which made the policeman serously wounded in his left arm.
Kulon Progo Vice Regent Surya Laksana said that the clash was caused by old late-solved-problems concerning land-border dispute since their grandfathers were involved in the land-selling-and-buying transaction without note of payment, after which the dispute expanded gradually from family dispute to village dispute and finally stimulated the clash with the arson.
The wounded youth, Supriono, 23, claimed that it was the first time he set a house on fire, but the second time he attacked police. He said that he had a private hate to a police officer when the policeman hit his face from scratching the police vehicle, afterward he retaliated by throwing a stone to the policeman.
Nowadays, Surya Laksana is inviting all community leaders over Kulon Progo regency to discusse the best solution
