Joining sentences with Relative Pronouns

Please tell me which one sounds better?
(a) is official answer, (b) is my answer

1. The train was delayed for half an hour. We were waiting for it.
(a) We were waiting for the train which was delayed for half an hour.
(b) The train which we were waiting for was delayed for half an hour.

2.Man Loong is Mei Ling's cousin. We met him last night.
(a) We met Man Loong, who is Mei Ling's cousin, last night.
(b) Man Loong, whom we met last night, is Mei Ling's cousin.
