John says that he is a prisoner of Jane's love.

Hi

John says that he is a prisoner of Jane's love.

In the above sentence, in my opinion, "prisoner" suggests that somewhere deep in John's heart he wants to escape the love of Jane but he can't. In other words, though John loves Jane but at the same time he just feels so much entrapped by her love that he can't think of anything else.

Is my interpretation correct? Please help me with it. Thank you.
