Job Hopping

Hi, everyone! I'm new here. I am trying my best to improve my English writing, so I hope that you can help me. Thank you!

Some people work for the same organization all their working life. Others think that it is better to work for different organizations.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

There is no doubt that everyone wants to have a good job with a bright career prospect; however, only a few have enough luck to find out the job they wish at the first time. While some people think that people should be loyal to one company, I do believe that job hopping is not bad, even an inevitable step in today’s labor market.

There are some benefits if a person stays on the same job. Firstly, it is obvious that these people can build a reputation of dependability and are more likely to gain access to special job benefits that are reserved for long – time workers. From the employer’s perspective, they tend to keen on job applicants who are committed to work for a long time because they can save resources in recruitment and training. Moreover, frequent job hopping is a red flag to prospective employers because they will question about the candidate’s loyalty, resilience and perseverance.

However, I believe that switching jobs is an inevitable step in the labor market, and in many cases, it brings benefits to both the employer and the employee. After graduating, most people have to try and experience many different jobs to find the right fit that they can stick with for 10 or 20 years without getting burned out. Others resort to change jobs because the current job cannot make the best use of their ability, and they want to escape a dead-end job or crave for a brighter job prospect. To some extent, a new job might push a person to adapt, acquire new knowledge and get a fresh look on things. The employee can apply a range of knowledge and skills that he have learnt to his work and make values for his organisation. Such people are seen as more dynamic and versatile.

In conclusion, in my opinion, people have the right to pursue and seek a job that they find it suitable to them and even it takes several times to gain it. In order to make a sound career move, one has to develop their knowledge as well as necessary skills to adjust to a new working environment.
