Jigsaw puzzle

Hi,

If I have a jigsaw puzzle which is a castle, what can I say?
Should I say "fit together the castle" or "fit together the pieces"?

Secondly, should I say "do the jigsaw puzzle" or "play the jigsaw puzzel"?

Thank you.
