Jewels/jewelry

Dear Everyone,

I have trouble with the correct usage of the words jewels and jewellery/jewelry. I understand they are uncountable nouns.. Can I say,

a lot of jewels

a lot of jewelry

many pieces of jewelry?

Google don't give a lot of results for any of these. Am I missing something? Could you, please, tell me how you use these words? Thanks!

Jewel is countable: we talk of the "crown jewels". Jewelry is generally not countable, although we can have pieces of jewelry.
