Jewel-Spired?

I've encountered with this expression while reading the following phrase:

"Atlantis's great golden gate confined a Jewel-Spried city whos magnificence has yet to be equaled."

Can someone explain to me the meaning of "Jewel-Spried", and prehaps the whole sentence Emotion: smile

Thanks in advance.

"Jewel-spired" probably means spires made of jewels. Behind the golden gates of Atlantis was a city filled with buildings with spires of jewels, so magnificent - there has never been such a great city before.
