Jetting off

Rumoured couple Sidharth Shukla and Shehnaaz Gill were spotted at the airport on Thursday, jetting off to Chandigarh. I read the above in the Timesofindia online.What is the grammatical form and function of "jetting off to Chandigarh"?is comma used correctly?I couldn't decide whether "jetting off..." is a participle clause modifying the subject and thus functions adjectivally or a reduced relative clause. Does it modify anything or just some extra information as separated by a comma?
