Jellyfish (I think it's not hyphenated) sting rather than bite -- I don't believe they have teeth. "Have you ever been stung by a jellyfish before?" is correct if the person has now been stung and you're asking if this is the first time. If you are just wondering in general, you don't need the "before" -- just "Have you ever been stung by a jellyfish?" (Some people would put in "before" anyway,
