Jeff? brother-in-law?

Hi there, would you please do me a favor? Do these statements make sense or not? Many thanks!

A man who have a new English name- Jeff, but he didn’t tell his relatives and friends. One day, his sister received a call from a stranger.

(A= stranger, B= Jeff’s sister)

A: Hello, this is ABC Company. May I speak to Jeff, please?

B: My brother-in-law? He does not live here.

(“Jeff” sounds like brother-in-law in Chinese.)
