right im a jay-z fanatic i got his clothes and his music and his films all his albums and ive seen him live but this has no bearing on whether hes better than nas does it. for a start i think jay-z won the battle they had in 2001 , nas came at jigga hard but his rhymes werent as damaging as jays , he was nursery rhymin , jigga went hard. for me jay-z is the best rapper thats ever done it , ever since he came out with Reasonable Doubt and tore up the game as a hustler from Marcy Projects , ok illmatic came out and thats ill as well. theres many people who disagree with me. but jus check the records , jay-z done 14 albums and hes been in the game what 9 years? nas hasnt done that , you should hear jay acapella , he is unbelieveable!!! just incredible live he was so good wen i saw him in london the best i was blown away totally. classic jay-z albums are reasonable , volume 1 , the black album , the blueprint , jay-z unplugged , volume 2 plus the rest of his work is hot. nas hasnt done that many ill albums has he? jay-z the only rapper that can do unplugged! he killed it he was awesome. could nas do that? jay-z combines street , pop , lyrics , flow , respect , battling , consistency , longevity and hes only had 1 battle and he hasnt been shot cos he knows no one can touch him. hes the best and now hes the most powerful man in hip hop , he sets trends , he makes or breaks people , he is a VERY influential person and he is a lot more powerful and wise than u think he is. a man who woke up and his dads gone! left with his mum working 3 jobs growing up in the most violent crack riddled projects in the usa , it was one of the most dangerous places in the usa in the 70's n 80's , he had to resort to selling crack , ruining peoples lives , ask him and im sure he wouldnt have wanted to become the lowest of the low society has to offer in terms of drug dealers , but he had to. he got himself out of the houses by himself and set up his own label and made millions whilst at the same time becoming one of the greatest rappers of all time. hes done it all. cant no one touch him. look at him now look at his achievements and track record? few can keep up with hova. hes the best ever and he never slips up or gets caught slipping NEVER , NEVER HAPPEN! trust me jays the greatest. nuff said come at me if u disagree i got ammo to take u down!

Jay is sick, fine. But he is also a mainstream sell out. Which is fine if you're in it for the money, which J is. I don't have a problem with that man but pick your idols carefully. Don't adore Jay Z cos he had a dangerous past - plenty of people in that situation make it without selling crack. He stooped. You need to widen your perspective man, get back to KRS, or witness UK hip hop. All US (maybe apart from Kanye) is all ****** and ******* man. Not cool.

jay stooped? he stooped? he was living in the projects he had to sell dope to survive, do you know anything about the epidemic in the 80's and what it forced many of the rappers around today to do. he had to do it and he came up from the bottom and look at him now. you said ' Don't adore Jay Z cos he had a dangerous past ' i never said i did. **** man cant you appreciate a man who came up from nothing to shape a whole culture by his rhymes and presence in the game? he is the greatest rapper of all time. hes better than 2pac, pac didnt have rhyme skills like jay, he couldnt play on words he didnt spit fire like jay, its just what he said that made him hot. he like kanye, not the best skills but has good lyrical content. hes better than nas cos since illmatic nas has fallen off bigtime. compare jigga and esco album for album , jay beats him hands down. reasonable, vol 1 , 2 , blueprint , black album , unplugged ( which by the way no other rapper in history could pull off with such class as jay ) , dynasty , blueprint 2.1.nas errr illmatic, it was written and thats it. he cant fill an album , even gods son has skip tracks on it. i love krs one and british hip hop is an absolute discrace. its all the same young black guys talkin bout how they gonna murk people when we are try to crack down on gun crime. theyre driving rented cars and complaining that the us rap scene is crushing them. well **** uk if it wasnt for kool herc , supreme and lorenzo you guys wouldnt even be spittin. so appreciate the us because they got a whole lot more styles than we have. they got east coast gangster , west coast laid back , southern crunk and houston screwed and chopped. we are just rubbish. yeh dizzee and black twang and others. krs one is the king too. i love that guy hes real hip hop. jigga isnt a sell out. he dumbed down his audience. if he wanted to keep it gutter and talk about crack dealing all the time yeh sure he could have kept it that way and sold like 5 million. but hes not that kinda rapper, listen to all his records , how often does he talk about the hood or whats going on in the projects? he rarely talks bout it apart from his experience. he steered away from that and didnt want to follow that path. he combined street hardcore, popular hip hop, like nobody else. he has achieved success in both fields. thats why he is the best. he dropped an album every 6 months for the past 9 years. every summer he kept the game laced.

Dont ever hate on jay hova when you dont even know the glorious history of hip hop mate. ok. jay is the best and if you knew anything about him then you can comment. im a studious listener to all sorts of music and espec hip hop. i understand what you say and i may sound deluded but i hate people commenting on rappers when they dont know thier history and what has shaped thier lives to make them what they are today.

I like Nas, he = better lyrically. jay-z has the more commercialised beats cos of his fame, but nas has the best beats, especially premo ish man. jay z is a very talented MC because he does come good lyrically aswell, and he doesn't write anything down which shows his improvisation skills. The battle was won by Nas no question. But that doesnt prove he was the better overall rapper.

In terms of success and broadening the reach of hip hop, no doubt jay-z wins hands down, but in terms of lyrical skill, flow and wordplay along with of the content of his rhymes....as in what he says....theres only one mic and it goes to Nas.

P.S This is not including Streets Disciple because that was str8 garbage. Disappointing.

0you punks need to fix up ane remember what this iz about. Jigga sold crack sure, both these brothas grew up in public housin but lets focus on theyre rymnes not their past. first off, Jay Z's career has been fast and furious but hes always had a better team around him. his production's thick and his rymning is clever and pretty dirty. but only Biggie's flow is anywhere near touching NAs and there is no one to match him lyrically. Jay is more appealing to the public but the lyrical content comes no where near Nas's0-
