Jake has it in hand now

There was a fire in the kitchen, but Jake has it in hand now.

... but Jake has it in control now.

... but Jake has it extinguished/put out now.

Do all of the above sound right and mean about the same? Thanks.

I would be a little stronger than Philip in saying that they are not the same.

A fire that is under control is not out, but it's no longer in danger of spreading.
