I've seen/saw

Talking to a car salesman on the phone:

I've seen your ad on the new york times car listing page and I'm interested in one of your cars.

I saw your ad on the new york times car listing page and I'm interested in one of your cars.

I know both are probably al right sentences but would the present perfect tense be the grammatically perfect one?

Top answer

They are both fine. I'd actually lean toward the simple past unless you saw numerous ads repeatedly. Please remember that New York Times is a proper noun and should be capitalized.
