1. I've never been told what happened.

I've never been told about what happened.

2. I told you what happened already

I told you about what happened already.

Which ones are correct?

They are all correct. The first of each pair is more direct. You are being told the facts of the event itself. The second of each pair in more indirect. You are being told facts related to the event. I think I tend to use the more direct way more often.

I actually wrote the very first sentence somewhere and then wondered whether I had made a mistake because I heard people use "tell sb about sth" quite often.
