I've met

I've met a lot of people. Or

I've met a lot of wannabes.

Are these okay as standalone sentences.

Thank you!

Yes, both are grammatically correct. However "wannabes" (from "want to be") is somewhat informal (better for conversation than for formal writing).

Doctor D, I thought wannable meant someone who tries to look or behave like someone famous because they want to be like them. Can this word be used as a synonym of people in general?

No.
It means people who are not satisfied with who they are, and want to be someone different.
