I’ve correctly used ‘that means you have to’ in the last sentence, haven’t I? Should there be a comma after ‘empathy’ and another comma after ‘sympathy,’ that is ‘…empathy, rather than sympathy, for…’?
Dr. Craig Johnson told the nurses: “Empathize rather than sympathize with the patients. That means you have to view things from their perspectives without getting emotionally involved with them.”
I find it acceptable as written.
