I've brought some books OR I brought some books

0This is the third post in my "Past Simple vs. Present Perfect series".02br
02br
00Here's the context: Kelly is visiting Tim. She has some books in her bag.02br
02br
00Situation #1: Tim opens the front door, Kelly takes the books out from her bag. She says: "01b00I've brought02b00 some books."02br
02br
00Situation #2: Tim opens the front door but Kelly doesn't give him anything. She puts her handbag down on the floor and goes with Tim to the kitchen. During the (can I use the arcticle here?) dinner, she says - a) "01b00I've brought02b00 some books." OR b) "01b00I brought02b00 some books."02br
02br
00I'd use a). However, the act of "bringing" is actually in specified past (= "when I came here").02br
02br
00Situation #3: #1 and #2 combined and modified. Tim opens the front door, Kelly takes the books out from her bag. She says: "01b00I've brought02b00 some books." Then, they go to the kitchen (Kelly's bag is now on the floor in the hall) and have dinner. While having dinner, Kelly says a) "01b00I've brought02b00 some CDs as well." OR b) "01b00I brought02b00 some CDs as well."02br
02br
00I'd use b). There was already some bringing and giving in the past (when Tim got the door).02br
02br
00Could you please comment on the above situations?02br
02br
00All your comments will be appreciated!0-

0Hello! I quite like your analysis 05000 I think you can use both... The message the present perfect conveys is that the CDs are here; I'd especially use it if, say, Kelly suddenly got up and went to fetch the CDs as she said that.

When you use the past simple, I understand it as "There are some CDs in the bag I put on the floor (or wherever) when I came in, do whatever you want with them
