In isolation they are the same. Context might require one or the other.

Somewhat unnatural in the present tense as written.
tinanam0102I've always liked you/ guns / horses
From a time farther back than I can remember until now. This is more natural.

Hi CalifJim,

When you say unnatural is it because of 'always', or maybe certain words? I always walk to school. I always do my homework.

Thanks

It's the combination of 'always' with a stative verb that can sound strange.

?I always like guns.
?We always live here.
?Ellen always has a brother.
?This jar is always made of glass.

With a dynamic verb, it's fine.

Hi CalifJim,

I understand stative words do not take continuous form, but stative words like: agree, prefer, seem, deny and depend seems like dynamic too. Can you check the following sentences, please?

1a. I've always felt uncomfortable around her.
1b. I always feel uncomfortable around her.

2a. I've always imagined having a small wedding.
2b. I always imaga

The only one that sounds a little strange to me is 7b. 2b is also just a tiny bit 'off' to my ear, but acceptable.

Hi CJ,

Is when a relative adverb or conjunction in She's always denied it when she is caught lying?

Hi CalifJim,

I think that covers most of the topic. Thank you for your help. I know it's a very long thread. Also thanks for the usage of 'deny'. I had a bit struggle trying to make the example.

Have a good day.
