I've

Going out on a double date with my friend. I set her up with a guy, and I say:

I've found a date for you. Or

I found a date for you.

THis happened on the day of the date.

So, I would presume I should use the present perfect.

I assume that it would make more sense to use the present perfect because I'm saying it in the present. And then I tell her on the same day if not right after.

Does that make sense?
