I would break it up into two sentences just to make it a little less cumbersome, i.e.,
I've asked Mom again. I told her that they had taken care of me when I first moved to New York, so, hopefully (many grammarians cringe at that word, but it is in common usage), she'll change her mind.

If you want to leave it as one sentence, try:

I've asked Mom again, and have told her t
