'It's where' Please Help

Hi,

I've written the following conversation but have a query.

'It's called lucid dreaming.'
'Lucid dreaming, what is it?'
'It's where the dreamer is fully aware that they are in dream, but despite this awareness they remain trapped in a dream state.'

My question is, am I correct when starting the last sentence with 'It's where.' I've substituted it with 'It's when.' But it doesn't sound right.

What do you think?
Thanks
Ryan

  • - I went to Woolsthorpe.

  • It's when they're harvesting the wheat But a dream state doesn't really have a "when" or "where" so I think either will do.
  • "Where" sounds natural but I think "when" would also be fine Dave

Hi

I think either will do

Of course, there are sentences where a place or time are referred to...

- I went to Woolsthorpe. It's where Isaac Newton was born

- I was there in August. It's when they're harvesting the wheat

But a dream state doesn't really have a "when" or "where" so I think either will do. "Where" sounds natural but I think "when" would
