It's the first time(use of the tense)

0 I am a non-native speaker and would like to ask a question if it is possible to use "it is the first time I did sth, I did..." or I should only use "it is the first time I've done it/'d done it(dependent on the context)" 0-

As far as I know you can't use present perfect structure when you talk about a specific point in the past!
that's why I think the first sentence is wrong and should change to "Last Tuesday was the first time that I had done it."
and I'm not sure if you can use simple past for the first sentence and present continuance for the second one.

Mr.Micawber I think you only received one possible meaning in that sentence, that is:

1) My family and I are (eventually) going together to the movies.

But if the sentence had been translated into English by an Italian "thinker", it might also mean:

2) My family and I are ALREADY sitting at the movies and watching one, in which case I suppose you should sa

Well, that was over two years ago. I was wet behind the ears in those days. (S/he seems to be a Chinese 'thinker', though.)

can I say "This is the first time I'm eating octopus" if this is what I'm doing right now, at the moment of speaking? If we use present perfect does this imply that I'm doing that activity exactly when I say that?
