It's the best day of your life

Can someone help me to understand how "the best of your life" related to learn something important?
Does this text implies that when one learning important it "equals" the best day in one's life?

You know how when you learn a lesson in your life that that's not very pleasant, right?
It's not like when you learn something important, it's the best day of your life, it's often… the importance of what you learn is often proportionate to just how wretched it is to learn it.
