It's not written by God

Hi

In my language, there is a beautiful phrase whose literal translation would be something like this:

It’s not written by God…

This expressions is generally used when the speaker is trying to convince someone to do something (stay a little longer, change the date of the meeting, etc), but the person is unwilling.

A – Let’s stay tonight, Ellen.
B – No, I have an important appointment tomorrow.
A – It’s not written by God. You can change the date. You are the MD of the company.

Do you think you can offer me an English substitute for this expression?

Thanks,

Tom
