In my language, there is a beautiful phrase whose literal translation would be something like this:
It’s not written by God…
This expressions is generally used when the speaker is trying to convince someone to do something (stay a little longer, change the date of the meeting, etc), but the person is unwilling.
A – Let’s stay tonight, Ellen. B – No, I have an important appointment tomorrow. A – It’s not written by God. You can change the date. You are the MD of the company.
