Topic: Advertising is having more and more influence on us. Is it a positive or a negative trend? Give your own opinion and examples.

Nowadays people are more affected by advertisements. In my opinion, this is a negative practice.

The most obvious reason why the influence of advertising is advantageous is that it changes the shopping habit of consumers. In the present day, there is an excessive number of advertisements that people could stumble on when walking on the street or even reading online news. That people are exposed to a lot of advertisements everyday would lead to which they see a lot of merchandises. As a result, the shopping frequency of customers would rise uncontrollably. For example, when going to work, a person sees a T-shirt which matches all his preferences, he could not stop thinking about it. Therefore, he would easily end up purchasing that T-shirt.

At the same time, consumers are easily misled by the glamour of advertising. Advertising is often exaggerated to attract buyers. Therefore, if people totally believe in what the advertising shows you when going shopping, they could sometimes buy low-quality products. The best example to illustrate is the cleaning fluid. This kind of product is always advertised on television that it could remove nearly total of the bacteria but in fact, many kinds of cleaning fluids could not eliminate the bacteria and they are only used to make the objects look brighter and cleaner. In the emotional aspect, the buyers who purchase these kinds of things would be extremely disappointed. Simultaneously, from the economic level, they would waste a large amount of money. Finally, this would make people lose their belief in the advertising at all.

In conclusion, advertising is more and more various in many forms nowadays and from my perspective, this would have a negative impact on the way people pay for things.
