It's my life

While I am listening to "It's my life" by Bon jovi, I questioned the meaning of some words.

the broken-hearted, the faith-departed, stood their ground, back down, stand tall, call out
What these above words mean? Frankie means Frank Sinatra?

"My heart is like an open highway" what this sentence mean?

This ain't a song for the broken-hearted
No silent prayer for the faith-departed

Like Frankie said
This is for the ones who stood their ground
For Tommy and Gina who never backed down
Better stand tall when they're calling you out

Song lyrics, like poetry, mean what the listener thinks they mean. Your guess is as good as ours. Broken-hearted: someone who has lost a love (usually been dumped) faith-departed: someone who no longer believes in ***.

He makes reference to Frank Sinatra; Frank´s close friends used to call him Frankie (records said the first in call him Frankie was Lucky Luciano); and in fact, he says "I did it my way" in his song MY WAY.

So, Bon Jovi sings: like Frankie said "I did it my way.........."
