It's me or It's I?

Hey guys,

I just wanted to look up whether "It's he" or "It's him" is correct and I found lots of different, confusing answers on the Internet. Furthermore, some people out there claimed that "It's I" is correct instead of "It's me" which confused me even more because everywhere, no matter whether in books, movies, etc. everybody said "It's me" and not "It's I" ?!

Thanks in advance

" "It's I" both looks and sounds awful. "It is I" is possible, but it's too formal for everyday conversation in my opinion. "

If you're going to use the predicate nominative, don't contract "it is." "It's I" both looks and sounds awful. "It is I" is possible, but it's too formal for everyday conversation in my opinion. The same applies to "It's him/It is he."

Thanks a lot!
So, "It's him" is also more likely than "It is he"?
