It's longer to vs It takes longer to

How would you say this please?

It('s) (takes) longer to put braces on than take them off.
It('s) (takes) faster to take them off than put them on.

Use either "it's faster/slower" or "it takes longer." (No, you cam't say "it takes shorter." The opposite of "it takes longer" is "it takes less time.")
