"It's like nobody's business and it's not exactly like anybody cares"

So.. I was just wondering and did some searching but I actually didn't come up with anything...

Is there any grammar construcion or anything like that, which is used in that sentence:
"it's not like anybody cares"
I mean: "it's like/not like somebody does sth"

also another sentence: "it's like... your fault.." or "I'm like.. I don't really watch TV (for example)"

Is that correct?

You have two different constructions here. 1. It's like / It's not like = It is as though / It is not as though = It is as if / It is not as if (almost always in the negative, though the affirmative is certainly also possible) It's not like anybody cares.

  • The use of "like" as a pause word like "uh" or "er" interspersed throughout a sentence.
