Is this sentence natural English?

It's close today. [There is little (or no) air and it's stuffy today.]

Frankly, I can think of nothing. I have heard of a stuffy room, but I cannot imagine a day being so.

American English: It's muggy today. It's (very) humid today.

I hear 'muggy' about 100 times more often than I hear 'close'.
