It's Been Over Ten Years Ago Now.

"I guess It's been over ten years ago now."


Is it grammatical? As far as I know, "ago" is not used in perfect construction. Actually, I saw some examples of "ago" being with "past perfect". But, The example is of present perfect. Could it be possible?

I too think so.

I think ago is appropriate with simple past tense.

I met him ten days ago.

We lived there five years ago.

My uncle left home five minutes ago.

It's OK. This is I guess plus the beginning of a sentence that takes it's ending from context.

It's been over ten years ago now [that/since the above-referenced event happened].

I read the PP "over ten years ago now" as a time marker connecting the point in the past (ten years ago) with the present (now).
