"It's been amazing knowing you?"

I am writing a card for a friend that I've known for about a year, and I want to show my appreciation for how good the last year has been - is it the right thing to say "it's been amazing knowing you this past year" - because it kind of sounds like I'm saying "I won't know you after this year" or "goodbye" - how can I change this or is it okay as it is?

It's fine.

Or you could say eg "Knowing you is amazing!"

Leave out 'this past year'. If you really want to call attention to the time period, then put 'this past year' in another sentence in your card where it won't suggest "goodbye".
