So what do you suggest how I can write him an email in which I want to say: I feel much much better and I would like to send him my documents, if they didn't change in the mean time?

Dear Dr. May, Thank you very much for your kind consideration previously of the medical opinion which my doctor gave me, and which facilitated my need to remove myself from my studies for a period. Thankfully, my health has improved more quickly than anticipated, and I feel, as does my doctor, that I am ready to resume my studies earlier than I had previously indicated.
