Hello teachers!
I'm desperate because I have to hand in this essay in 7hours.
Please do any grammatical checks.
Great thanks in advance!!!!!!
In retrospect, I hated teachers who ask "Do you have any question?" at the end of the class. Sometimes, the statement was asked even the class was finished. Without a doubt, no one asked a question because we were well aware of that asking questions shortens our break time. Whenever this thing happens, I blamed the teacher's incompetent who couldn't complete her class on time. But the time has come to plan my own, imaginary classes, I realized how difficult planning classes is in terms of time. First of all, I cannot expect how much time will be needed for students to do some exercises. On the one hand, some students might need only 5 minutes to fill in blanks but on the other hand, others might need more time. One of my classmates was a hard working student who had a poor understanding. When almost all the students finished answering to questions, she was managed to answer half of them. The teacher never waited her to finish answering. As I sat right behind her, I used to show my answers and she almost got the right ones. I understand that teacher cannot waste time for only one student because she planned the class in advance. Though the teacher couldn't give the student enough time, she could have come to the student after class and checked what she had got as answers. In the class where individual difference exists, teachers should keep their eyes more on below average students. Then second concern hits me. Development of the technology has brought about remarkable changes in language classes. Usually computer is used in language classes which enables students to do collaborative projects such as making a text book or a video in small groups. Contrary to the text-book based classes, CALL has some notable merits. CALL enables to modify teaching materials to their individual students' level. It also gives students personalized feedbacks. Writing e-mails and making blogs in English can help students to learn the language. The point I'm trying to make is that students should not depend on these technologies. Though there has been an advancement in technology, the technology should be an assistant to acquire languages. I've seen many of people who glued to American soap operas to learn English. Whenever I advised them not too depend on the drama and study some grammar rules or words, they denied what I suggested and said, "Then how can you explain the boom with American or British soap operas such as Gossip girl, Grey anatomy, House, and Skins?" I was speechless. I've never heard anyone acquired language abilities only watching soaps. It's true that more you exposed to the English speaking circumstances, more you get ability of English skills. The thing is learning should be done in many different ways with qualified institutors. I want to be a teacher who can utilize various technology skillfully.
