It's a long conversation subject, come with me

Hello.

Are the following sentences grammatically correct?

"It's a long conversation subject, come with me, said Chuck, then he put on his backpack and walked through the streets."

Thanks,

There is a missing closing quotation mark and two (relatively benign) comma splices. The wording "... and walked through the streets", though grammatically correct, does not seem to fit well with the first part of the sentence.
