It's a hectic day vs it's been a hectic day

I give a quote 'If you were wondering where I am at Fei's hotel room. She is currently at a picnic with mina. They will both appear in my vlog later. But thank you Fei for letting me just leave my suitcase in here because the weading vanue is really close to Fei's hotel and I had to go to Glendale and then come back here because I am meeting up with a friend. So, Fei thank you so much for allowing me to do that."Oh my gosh, it's been a hectic day but I am really enjoying my last few days here in LA''

So my question is what does it mean by it's been a hectic day And why not it's a hectic day here in the above passage? Please explain.
