I'm not sure that this is what you mean, but in English there is an "empty it" which just means something like "it is true that it ... "

- It is raining

- It was lovely to meet you

- It is dangerous to lean out of the window

The "it" here is not really a pronoun - it doesn't stand for one other thing - it is just used to announce "a state of existen

Ignoring the grammar aspect, I accept your suggestion, at least to some degree. But it's a stretch.

I respect your strict approach. One of the big problems in European thought is:

- I am thinking, therefore I am

Superficially, it looks as if this should follow - surely the second "I am" echoes the first

But some would say that there are just two distinct uses of the verb "to be" here. One links a pronoun to an adjective, the other does no such thing - it
