It would have been OK (yesterday) if I hadn't drunk vodka (the day before yesterday).
Hello there. I was reading this thread - and saw an explanation written by Ant_222
"It would have been OK (yesterday) if I hadn't drunk vodka (the day before yesterday). "
It is not always necessary that he had drunk "the day before yesterday", isn't it? I mean he could have drunk on THE SAME day ((yesterday) (just before)) and we would say the same sentence: "It would have been OK (yesterday) if I hadn't drunk vodka (also yesterday). Am I rgiht?
I want to say that past perfect here doesn't necessarily point at "the day before yesterday". It could happen on the same da yearlier . The time is unknown, though
